My xbox series s is making a clicking sound when I play a game is this normal?

It seems that it is only the fan that is making the noise. It is common with the new generation consoles if it happens most of the time. I would highly recommend sending the console for repair. You can create one from this link, https://support.microsoft.com/devices.

The Series S, just like the Series X is designed to be quite, in normal gaming (even when play X|S optimised games) the Series S fan should not be audible. It should be pretty much silent.

Have you changed the location of where your console is located? These consoles get warm (hot even), this is normal. So their location is actually more important than hearing the fan spinning.

My console always had coil whine, but that's not what I'm talking about. My Series X as of recently started making a hard drive like clicking sound, but only when idle and I'm on the home screen. And soon as I start a game, the noise completely stops. My Series X always made a low electrical buzzing sound when games were running and still does. With that being said, that's not what I'm concerned about, it's a clicking like sound that constantly continues until I launch a game and then it stops and the normal coil whine kicks in depending on the game.

What kind of sound?,this is actually normal,i got a xbox one S too and make like a little click sounds when is off(with the insta on off),i'm aware all the xbox one "S" make this particular noise,so if your hardware runs ok you should be not be worry about

When it's reading the disc, it sounds normal, though kinda loud.

I'll look into going to take it apart though i might just deal with it.
