Why are my download speeds only getting up to 50mbps on an Xbox series x on a wired connection?

Your download speeds are dictated by the speeds of the servers you are downloading from not by the theoretical maximum your line can support. If that was the maximum you managed with the One, then buying a Series X wouldn't automatically boost speeds.

I also have the same issue I have Telstra nbn as of July my download speeds have on Xbox one x have been so terrible I do a wifi speed test and it gets 50mbps and on my Xbox it struggles to get above 5mbps per second for downloading games sometimes killerbyts.

I have an Xbox one x, and I have noticed that a lot of times my visible download speed depends on the size of the file in which I have to download. For instance, if I download a file or game under 1GB the speed will not reach over 50mbps. When I download
a large file, like a game over 15gb, then I have seen speeds of up to 520mbps. The service I pay for is 400mbps.

Ok I just reset the cache as you suggested. I ran the speed test once again in settings. I am now getting a slightly better average upload speed of 50Mbps. Download is within spec at 910Mbps. Also, the xbox is wired directly into the fios gateway. I tried
the speedtest site using the edge app once again and the results were 475Mbps down and 251Mbps up. On fast.com the speed was 640Mbps down and 480Mbps up. Clearly the console is able to transmit speeds in excess of 50Mbps. Unless of course the Edge app is doing
something I am not aware of or vice versa with the built in test in the settings menu.
