Cannot save within any PC Game Pass games downloaded

Thanks for your assistance on this. I actually am on a PC, not a console.

Microsoft set me up for help from a very talented gentleman named Willy. Together we checked into whether the error code was fixable—we even ran diagnostics on my computer to see if anything was corrupt. There seemed to have been a corruption. Ultimately, his fix was to create an entirely new Windows login for the computer, and then checking whether the app would update—and, of course, whether the games would save on that new username as well. It did work on the new login: I could install and update the Xbox app, and also save games I played, on the new username. Therefore, I deleted the old one and kept the new. Haven't had a problem since.

As for what was creating the error and inhibiting me from updating the Xbox app or saving games...these were not fully determined. However, I can say I was trying multiple ways to fix the problem and might have created more issues by playing around with files and parameters after searching several times on how to fix things. I also ran multiple virus scanners and didn't detect any issues. Ultimately, everything works fine on the new username now, so I have no complaints.

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you have an issue in regard of installing your Xbox app to your computer wherein you encountered an error code "0x80070005". Let’s work together in finding the best resolution to this issue.

I made research and went to Xbox official website to look for possible ways to fix the issue. I found the following methods below to correct and fix the issue. Please follow the steps accordingly.

• Method A. Check the Xbox status page. If you see any services with alerts, expand the service, scroll down to Notifications, and sign in to receive a message when the service is up and running again.
  

• Method B. Power cycle your Xbox
  

1. Turn off your Xbox by holding the Xbox button  on the front of the console for about 10 seconds. The console will turn off.
   
2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button  on the console or the Xbox button  on your controller.
   

• Method C. Uninstall and Reinstall Game App
  

1. Press the Xbox button  on your controller to open the guide.
   
2. Select My games & apps > See all.
   
3. Select Games or Apps.
   
4. Highlight the game or app you want to uninstall, press the Menu button , and then select Uninstall > Uninstall all.
   
5. Reinstall the game or app by inserting the disc or downloading again from the Ready to install tab. To download again, select the game title from the Ready to install tab at the top of the screen. You can also find the game by searching for it in the Microsoft Store.
   

Note Installing from a disc does not apply to the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, which doesn’t include an optical disc drive.

• Method D. Reset Console
  

Warning In step 3 below, be sure to select Reset and keep my games & apps. Otherwise, you’ll reset your console to factory defaults.

1. Press the Xbox button  on your controller to open the guide.
   
2. Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info > Reset console.
   
3. Select Reset and keep my games & apps. This will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps.

In short, no you don't need Game Pass to play it on PC if you have bought the game.

Game Pass (not the Ultimate version) has nothing to do with Multiplayer anyway as it just allows you to download free games etc. The Ultimate Game Pass includes Xbox Live Gold within it...however, PC players do not need Gold to play online. That is the biggest benefit of playing on PC, namely not needing Gold so saving money.

cannot be done, also the person would have to be playing on xbox to activate the battle pass, on pc it has to be bought from epic store or within game.
