Error 0x87e00196 when installing any game

Done, no success. Games still throw Error: 0x87e00196 when attempting to install.

However, in your isolated case, we’d like to know more about it in details so that we can provide a more accurate resolution for you. To start, please provide us information/answer on the following questions:

• What troubleshooting steps have you done?
  
• Xbox app and Gaming services version?
  
  • Xbox app > select Profile picture > Settings > About.
    
• What are the device specs, make and model?
  
• Current version and edition of Windows Installed? (Search for WINVER in Windows search to see this)
  
• Recent activity or changes made before the issue appeared?

Get Updates

Open RUN, then type the command below

ms-windows-store://home

This will open the Microsoft Store interface.

Click on the action icon or the 3 dots on the upper right corner

Click on Download and Updates

Then Get Updates

Reset Store

Open Command Prompt with admin rights

Type the command below

wsreset.exe

[/tr][/table]
Restart PC then test.

Restart computer then check if you can download the game

Re-register Apps

Open command prompt with admin rights

Type the command below

Start you PC in safe mode + networking, see the steps below

I not sure if you are the same person, but if the troubleshooting steps did not work, I recommend resetting the PC to factory defaults would be our next step. Choose the option to Keep your files.

Windows 10 - although I think people have reported the same issue with win11.

Edit: I have added the error codes

Error when launching halo: Error code: (0x80070002)
Error when trying to install/verify any game: (0x87e00196)
