70 dollar gift card not working telling me to contact the merchant

Oh hi there I brought a 70 dollar xbox gift card and when I went to buy something with it it comes up with “this code is yet not activated please contact the merchant” help me with this please

If it says that the code isnt activated then the only ones who can help with that would be the retailer you purchased the code from. Only they can activate it (usually done at the register at the time of purchase)

First make sure you punched the codes in first, take your time don't rush! If yet still not working yes you haft to contact the merchant to make sure anything wasn't redeemed, make sure you always remind any merchant to activate

I don't think that is the case because I'm using US Dollars to purchase it, but when I try to buy it with the gift card then click next, it tells me to pick a payment method as if the gift card doesn't exist.
