    Hi

    I had to change the email address for my Microsoft account, as my email account is no longer working.

    Originally, *** Email address is removed for privacy *** was a google account (for email).

    *** Email address is removed for privacy *** was also a Microsoft account. Minecraft was purchased with this account.



    I changed the email address in the Microsoft account to a yahoo.com account address.

    When we run the Minecraft launcher, using the new Microsoft account (with the yahoo.com domain), it shows the correct Microsoft account in the launcher (with the original gaming username. So it does appear that some information transferred when the MS account was renamed.



    However, all of my Minecraft purchases are missing. I normally use the Java edition, but I also purchased the Windows edition.

    In the Java edition Instead of having a "play" option, it said "Play Demo", as if I don't own the game.

    The Windows edition says "Buy Now" as well - no "play" option.

    When I "manage account", under payment and billing, purchases, we can find the original purchase, but the Minecraft launcher does not think I own it.

    I also see this error at the bottom of the launcher (this has been going on for weeks now, not just a one-time issue):

    (!) Oh no! Something went wrong, and we couldn't connect to the Minecraft services. Try again.



    So, i'm wondering if something in Minecraft is still looking for the MS account with the old email address, instead of the new one.



    How do we get access to our old Minecraft purchases (and content)?

    Hello, sorry for the late reply.

    As you said I somehow created another Microsoft account with the same email adress like the previous one that I used to play Minecraft and other games with.

    I logged in with my Microsoft account in to the Minecraft website. I logged in with the same email adress, but I had different account name than I used to play Minecraft with and it shows me I don't have Minecraft. That is the issue I think, that I cannot log in to the previous account because it somehow overwrote it.

    I have resolved the issue! I failed to realize that since I changed my email I was logged out of other apps necessary to run properly. Thank you so much!
