Xbox seriesX only 640x480 in autodetect mode

Same issue with my vizio e55-f0. All my hdmi's are 2.0 and capable of 4k and all are set for uhd on.

Auto detect gives me 640 x 480 and nothing else. When I force it to hdmi it gives me 1080p but the allow 4k option is greyed out.

So frustrating as my ps4 pro has no issues on this TV, nor does my one x.

Cool! That's odd indeed, seems to be an issue with your console, but it remains to be seen if there's a software or hardware issue. What you could try to do in this situation, to discard any software issues of the table, is to offline update your console, if the issue continues, probably then it's your hardware.

In this case, we have two options, the first is to open an OS with Microsoft support (I'll redirect you myself), but there is a cost ($199 for Xbox one S and $ 249 for Xbox one X) for maintenance since the console is out of warranty. Just one caveat is that due to the pandemic, repair/exchange services are delayed due to the accumulation of services, hampered by the pandemic.

The second option would be for you to seek technical assistance in your region and take your console for repair, I believe it is the fastest way to solve it. However, if you choose this way, I strongly advise you to seek a repair store with good ratings beforehand.

Great business model Microsoft have, every year you pay almost as much as the xbox cost for maintenance.

After 14 months the hard drive failed, then 11 months later the HDMI port failed. I got the hdd fixed in the UK at half the microsoft price, I am not paying microsoft for anything on this machine.

I have already tried this and it makes no difference.

The fault is present with 3 HDMI cables and 2 screens which suggests it is in the XBOX rather than cables or screens.
