Error upon launching MS Flight Simulator

After getting the Xbox Gaming Pass Ultimate for 2 weeks and downloading Flight Simulator 2020 from the Microsoft Store, I get the following error upon launching the game: Please make sure your hardware is supported by this application. Please refer to
the ReadMe file. (WinMovie_Z). Note that this is after downloading FS and before the actual install.

Prior to this I was unable to even download the game at all until I reinstalled Windows. Also the Xbox App would just shut down, seemingly at random, with no error code whatsoever. This still persists. Also; mfplat.dll was missing. I downloaded this elsewehere
and that should be resolved.

Futile attempts include but not limited to reinstalling Windows, Xbox App, Windows Store; repaired & reset apps; Windows troubleshooting. The whole shebang. Everything is updated to the latest versions.

Hey so I have the same issue changes MFplat.dll (thats because windows N version)

It seems for some reason win 10 pro N is not compatible with flight simulator. I now bought a win 10 pro license and will reinstall windows which will alleviate the issue

 

Update: found a work around while keeping win 10 pro N (and yes it has everything to do with having windows 10 pro N big oversight by microsoft here)

navigate to Settings > Apps > Apps and Features > Optional Features > Add a Feature and find the Media Feature Pack in the list of available Optional Features. Note, you will not be prompted to restart your computer, but you must restart in order to successfully complete installation of the Media Feature Pack.

restart PC,
enabling WMP as the default music player app (not sure if this is needed or WMP is just required to be installed),
then trying to launch the game proved successful
